One question has shooketh the human race since the first strand of hair popped up on Eve’s head: Should I get bangs? It’s a question every woman asks herself every few months and then ruminates on for weeks. Maybe you saw someone who looks nothing like you with bangs and loved them, sparking that lingering thought, “I, too, should get bangs.” Maybe your parents were murdered by an evil sorcerer and you have a hideous scar on your forehead that connects you with the murderer but you don’t want everyone to know about it? Assume the following people below are all at similar points in life where they may contemplate the cut. Breakups and babies aside, should they get bangs?

Some things to know: She’s living her best bridal life, has not stopped #sponconning her way to a free wedding, and is incredible at lining up her bridesmaids in height order for the perfect group shot. A dramatic hair change might just be the content her followers are craving. She could even surprise her groom at the altar and he might be like, “SOS, I’m burnin’ up for your love, my little love bug” when he sees the bangs.

Most aren’t familiar with the woman above, but she is a Grammy-award winning singer, director, actress, designer, and sister to singing sensation Solange Knowles. She had a bangs mishap in 2014, but 2019 might be the year she proves she in fact actually invented bangs. Again.

This woman just turned another year older and got engaged. Life changes equate to the perfect storm for a bangin’ new ‘do in the form of bangin’ bangs. She’s had bangs before—in 2013 when Michelle Obama also got bangs. A precursor to Becoming. She also looks a bit mushroom-headed with bangs so there’s that fact to weigh. She is also me.

An oldie but a goodie. This hottie cannot keep the people away from her. It’s almost like everyone wants a picture and wants to know: what she’s thinking, what she’s been up to. Bangs might be able to give the model some much-needed privacy and would pair nicely with her coy smile.

Dislikes: Unrequited love, following high school rules, roles that don’t call for Oscar consideration.

Likes: Crying near the fireplace, great sweaters, and maybe bangs?
