Open fortunes cookies with messages

Somebody is mad at Ben Sasse, and they’ve decided to express it in a very delicious way.

The Republican senator from Nebraska tweeted that an unhappy constituent has taken to sending him fortune cookies, each stuffed with a withering diss.

“I’ve been getting some anonymous fortune cookies from an angry American — and I think it’s time to give props for creativity…,” he tweeted, with a photo of him holding up a message that read, “May the afterlife turn out to be a never ending series of Fox News interviews.”

“today’s cookie expressed a hope for me ‘to be trapped in an elevator’ with folks who are really angry at me,” Sasse continued.

What bone could this politically engaged American possibly have to pick with Ben Sasse? Is it his support of the Covington boys? Is it that he publicly disavows President Trump, but privately votes in lockstep with him? Or is it because he live-tweets sporting events with searing commentary like, “What a game”? Whatever the case, the cookies look delicious.
